Carlyle Town Council held its first regular meeting of 2017 on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Council's next meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the Carlyle Civic Centre.
Business licences
Bylaw No. 2017-01 was passed by members of council and includes changes to business licence rates within the Town of Carlyle. Class A, Class B and home-based businesses are now required to pay $24 per year for a business licence. New doctor
The Town of Carlyle looks forward to welcoming Dr. Ishpinder Singh Ranu to his practice at the Carlyle Primary Health Clinic. The doctor is expected to arive in February and his wife and children will join him later.
Fire Hall renovations
Council is currently exploring the cost of necessary renovations to the Carlyle Fire Hall.
Emergency Measures Notification System
Council is currently working with a consultant to create a comphrensive Emergency Measures Notification System for the Town of Carlyle.
Snow removal
Mayor Wayne Orsted and members of council praised the efforts of Carlyle's Public Works employees in clearing snow- especially during the Christmas period. “The outside workers did an excellent job,” said Orsted.
