The family of Rena Burton, late of Weyburn & formerly of Arcola, announce her passing on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the age of 96 years.
Rena was born November 3, 1916 in the Alameda district & lived her 64 years of married life to Ron Burton mostly on the farm in the Willmar district. After retiring from farming, Rena & Ron resided in Arcola. Following Ron's passing in Feb. 2008, Rena lived in Weyburn.
Rena was also predeceased by her parents, James & Elizabeth Hamilton; daughter, Judy Schmidt, granddaughters, Lindsay Farrell & Tracy Schwager. She is survived by her son, Calvin Burton, Arcola; daughter, Nancy (Pat) Farrell, Creelman; grandchildren, Stacy (Brad) Kowal, Tyler (Shannon) Schmidt, Christy (Dale) Burton, Chad Burton, Jason (Teresa) Farrell & Alyssa Farrell (Josh); 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Avery, North Bay, Ont.; several nieces & nephews.
Memorial service was held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16 from St. Andrew's United Church, Arcola, with Rev. Michelle Moore officiating. Interment in Arcola Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
