Team Southeast gathered in Weyburn on Sunday, Feb. 11, to participate in a pep rally at McKenna Hall. Athletes were able to meet the other participants and celebrate the opportunity to go to the Saskatchewan Winter Games this year.

The games this year are being held in North Battleford

In addition to the pep rally athletes, coaches, managers, and parents had the opportunity to learn more about Injury Prevention through Kristie Mueller’s session on how to warm up, cool down, and the importance of hydration. Thomas Hamilton discussed sport nutrition and how to maximize their performance at the winter games through food. Finally Kyle McDonald provided mental training in how to manage stress, emotion, and anxiety in order to be focused and able to perform in competition.

Good luck to all the athletes on Team Southeast!
