Nadja Schlienger of First Student was recently recognized for her defensive driving while operating a school bus on June 16th, 2018. S/Sgt. Simons acknowledges that this recognition is long overdue.
Nadja was stopped at the intersection of Highway 9 and 13 east of Carlyle when she recognized that a semi was travelling too fast to negotiate the corner. She quickly moved her bus and crossed the highway. The semi rolled and landed where her bus had been sitting.
It is defensive driving like this that is helping make our roads safer.
