Student Led Conferences

Student Led Conferences will be held on April 16 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and April 17 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Students are expected to attend with their parents/caregivers. This is an opportunity for students to show off their best work.  We also want students to talk about the things they are learning.  Their advisory group leader will support your son/daughter in this conversation.   Students lead this whole exercise. We also want students to show off their school.  The shop and home economics labs will be open for students to show off projects.  Our students produce the most amazing quilts and if you’ve never seen a quilt sewing machine, you can now.  The science lab will be opened up to show off the things we have in it.  Want to see a tarantula?  We’ll have one there.  Want to dissect something?  We’ll be ready.  If you don’t know what math manipulatives are, come and see a demonstration of how they are used.  We have incredible poets and writers in this school.  Come see samples of unbelievable prose.  Take a stroll down the west/east hallway and look at last year’s award winners. Athletic banners in the school gym and class pictures of graduated students from past years await you as you come to our school. Student Led Conferences provide a forum for students to celebrate their successes and celebrate school excellence.  We look forward to seeing parents/caregivers and students here.

On Saturday, April 13, from 9AM – 6PM, the GFK Senior Badminton Team will be hosting Pre-Districts in our gym. Come out and cheer on the team.

The next School Community Council meeting is at GFK on April 15. This is a joint CES and GFK meeting and will be related to future provincial goals and initiatives in education. If you want to know what is going on at the school or have questions, please plan to attend.  Your participation is necessary for our school’s success.
