Big Daddy Tazz, a long performing comedian, will be the entertainment at the Alida and District Lions Club dinner and a show on Jan. 26.

On Jan. 26 the Alida and District Lions Club will be holding a supper and comedy night, with special guest Big Daddy Tazz, a comedian who has been in the business for 22 years.

The evening will be held at the Alida Memorial hall. Cocktails are served beginning at 5 p.m. Supper will be served by the Alida History Book Committee at 6 p.m., which is planned to be a roast beef dinner with all the fixings. It will be a delicious meal followed by a great comedian based out of Winnipeg.

Big Daddy Tazz was described by Dwight Steffensen as a good, clean comedian. Tazz is based out of Winnipeg and has performed with the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, with different critics on the internet exclaiming how entertaining he is.

"It's everyday humour, clean, I don't swear or talk about things to make people uncomfortable," Big Daddy Tazz explains. "I'm actually from Saskatchewan, so I'll talk about things like growing up on a farm and becoming a city kid or how bad the water is in Carnduff. The water is bad there I've never taken a shower anywhere else and wondered after if I had washed my tattoos off."

Dwight Steffensen, Lions member in Alida, explained he had seen him perform a couple of times on stage as well as on television.

Steffensen explained that the evening is open to all; kids are welcome, though, he reminds those coming that there will be a bar open throughout the night.

The Lions are using this night as a fundraiser for the Alida Memorial Hall Roof Fund. The group likes to help with volunteering and raising money for different causes in the community. Last fall the roof of Memorial Hall was discussed by members and their planning has come together with this comedy night, which is bound to be full of entertainment and great food.

"Come and have a good laugh," Steffensen invites.

Tickets for the evening are $30 and is a great way to spend a Saturday night.

Contact Dwight Steffensen at (306)482-3277, Leonard Patton at (306)443-2467, or any other Alida and District Lions member for more information and to get your tickets now. Though some tickets may still be available at the door that night, it is best to ensure you have a ticket for the night's festivities in advance.

"I love making people laugh, if people are having a bad day I can take them away from that for an hour or so and if I'm having a bad day then get on-stage and can make people laugh it makes my day better," Big Daddy Tazz stated.
