Carlyle was treated to a vocally stunning performance on Saturday, Sept. 23, with Jo-Jo O’ & The WOODS taking to the Memorial Hall stage.

Described as a “stripped back, folksy-acoustic version of their full tilt, dark & moody, rock n’ roll sound,” they had the crowd clapping to the beat and loved the intimate setting.

The pair, “Jo-Jo O’Donaghue and Rylan Woods (of Carlyle’s own Cliff Walker Family Fame) [is] a songwriting partnership forged in primary school.”

On the set list were classic covers, songs from their 2015 debut EP “Old Friends & Lost Souls,” as well as music from their upcoming full length album.

The Carlyle performance was enjoyed by all in attendance. O’Donoghue’s vocals were a pleasant surprise for those in the audience that hadn’t heard her sing before. Her strong vocals and her control of her voice were striking, while Woods’ abilities on the guitar were extremely impressive and the harmonies blended beautifully.
