Arcola Optimist Club hold 26th Snowmobile Rally

The Optimist Club of Arcola held its 26th Annual Snowmobile Rally on Saturday, January 26th 2019 with 256 riders registered for $10,000 in rider prizes.

The Optimist Trail was about 90 km long with the traditional check stop featuring smokies, hot dogs and hot chocolate sponsored by Canadian Energy Services.

Riders returned to Prairie Place where they enjoyed beef on a bun at the concession sponsored by Ridgeline Agriservices and the Beer Gardens sponsored by JJ Trucking.

The event started with breakfast be the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department.

The lottery for a choice of RVs from New Age Motorsports was drawn at 5:30 PM. First prizes was won by Chad Beattie from Carlyle. Second and third prizes of $1000 were won by J Wiens from Lampman and Ryan Rutten from Carlyle.

Corporate and individual advertising sponsors donated over $30,000 which will be shared with Praire Place Complex, The Arcola Curling Club, Moose Mountain Wildlife, Arcola Rodeo Committee, Vipers Volleyball, Moose Mountain Karate Club, Arcola Day Care, Rebels Volleyball and the Arcola Figure Skating Clubs. Other groups sharing in the proceeds from the day were eh Arcola Kisbey 4H beef club, the Arcola Guides and the Arcola School Grad Class.

The day was successful because we had volunteers from these organizations helping out as well as other community members!
