Meet some o the fireman! Even thought the extreme heat caused less of a turn out from the public at the Fireman’s golf match in Carlyle on Saturday Aug. 11, the day was a success and enjoyed by all, even in the shade by on lookers who came out to watch. The fireman themselves were about ready to bring out the hose, and a few were surprised they actually hadn’t been interrupted by emergencies with the extreme temperature. A total of 45 participants came out to help raise funds, and they were all treated to a steak dinner at the end of the match. The proceeds go towards a much needed new fire hall in Carlyle.
