A summer tradition

July 17 marked the start of a new season in life for Jan Armstrong, his father Harvey Armstrong and business partner Keith Berry.

Jan Armstrong surveys the park while discussing the changes already completed and some of the vision for the future. While those plans for the future are not for publication at the moment, rest assured they will be very exciting and worth waiting for.

July 17 marked the start of a new season in life for Jan Armstrong, his father Harvey Armstrong and business partner Keith Berry.  Although Jan managed the Kenosee Superslides for several years, when he heard the slides would close unless a buyer was found, he knew the impact it would have on the entire area surrounding the slides.  Convinced they could breathe new life into the slides, they jumped in with both feet.  The slides themselves have seen some upgrades, a wrestling ring has been added to the grounds for future attractions, and the restaurant has seen some significant upgrades.  Chad McNabb brings 20 years of kitchen and restaurant experience to the table, and he has added cotton candy, slushies and popcorn to the standard fare. Burgers, hotdogs, sliders, fries, poutine, mozza sticks, battered mushrooms, onion rings, chicken strips, popcorn chicken, mexi fries and taco in a bag are all on the menu!

Even the entrance fees have had a significant facelift, or rather a price drop! Tube rentals have been eliminated and there are some deals to be had on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays.  The hours are from 11-6 pm, with discounts for folks coming in from 4-6 pm.  As always weather will play a factor in your time at the slides, since the height of the structures themselves will act as a lightening rod.  All slides will be shut down for thunder, re-opening ½ an hour after the last crack, and one hour after the last lightening event. Of course, since weather is unpredictable, refunds will not be issued should the weather cause the park to close.

Jan Armstrong and his partners are very excited for their new venture and have many ideas for added attractions, changes to the restaurant itself, and are looking forward to many years of making memories with their community, staff and customers.
