Mason, Isabelle and Everett Beriault welcomed their baby half-brother Ridge Brian Carles, who arrived safe and sound Sept. 1.

Jeff Cowan visited at the Cowan farm on Sept. 6 with the family and also visited with friends in the area before returning to Regina.

Shelly and Ainsley Cowan spent Sept. 7 in Estevan where they assisted Kelsey in cleaning her vacated house, as she had moved to a different house together with her sister Lacie. Good luck girls in your new home.

We received our first frost of the season on Sept. 8 – woke up to see lots of white frost covering the ground. Thank goodness I had covered up the plants in the garden and what flowers I had beside the house. What was not covered surely did meet their waterloo.

Linda Hine of Edson, Alta., had been in the area and on Sept. 8 she paid a visit with Lil and Leonard Patton.

The first day of school for most of the students and staff in the area was on Sept. 8 or 9. Then on Sept. 10 and 11 all students attended their classes and school was back in full swing.

There are a few students who opted out to stay home and take classes via the Internet. Good luck everyone in the new school year.

On Sept. 9, John Cowan left the Cowan farm to head back to Alberta after spending a couple of weeks helping Gray and Tim with the most of the harvest. Appreciate the help.

Hip hip hooray, we finally got finished harvesting Sept. 12. It surely does feel great to see the grain all in the bins and now the men can begin to clean things up and put away the machinery for this season. Hopefully anyone who are still harvesting they will have some more good days and they too will be finished. Good Luck everyone as you finish up.

I got my harvesting done – picked and cleaned up all the vegetables in my garden and brought them in for storage. Actually was pleased with what I got from the garden, except for the carrots, surely did not have a crop of them – only about three or four and then the dog ate most of them before I could get them into the house.

Hubby will now begin the chore of digging the field potatoes and his carrots (hopefully he has a better crop than I did). His field garden does keep him busy and he seems to enjoy it – so far his potatoes are (hate to admit it) way better than the ones in my garden, so maybe his carrots will be too. However his corn crop was skimpy as the coons helped themselves to most of it.
