New owner of Built 4 Life, Jenna Jensen, has realized her dream of owning her own gym.

Built 4 Life Health and Fitness has come under new ownership recently. Jenna Jensen, a personal trainer who has worked at the gym since its inception in 2008 has taken over the facility from Jason and Tara Duhaime.

The opportunity presented itself when the Duhaime's decided to sell their business.

"I approached them with my proposition and they accepted. It's been a dream come true for me as I've always wanted to own my own gym," explained Jensen.

Jensen grew up in the area and following a kinesiology degree from the University of Saskatchewan ended up back here. In 2008 she began with Built 4 Life as a personal trainer and has had much success in this field.

"It has been locally owned since 2008 and it will continue to be locally owned. I have the best intentions at heart and want it to succeed," Jensen exclaimed.

The building, which was built from the ground up by the Duhaimes, is only four years old and is a fabulous establishment.

"For a community this size it is a great facility, you'd never expect something like this," Jensen stated.

The gym is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the use of a key obtained upon membership. There are many different kinds of memberships including those for students, seniors, adults, families, and a 12 pass punch card.

"It's a very safe facility, which is always monitored. It's very secure," Jensen said.

Her clientele varies from high school students to seniors to oilfield workers. Jensen has found with such diverse patrons everyone feels welcome and no one is intimidated by anyone. It is a pleasant atmosphere offering fitness and health to all.

Built 4 Life offers a wide range of ways to keep fit. This includes everything from cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, and an aerobics room. They also sell nutritional supplements from the facility. Available at the gym is also access to a tanning bed and a registered massage therapist, Brittany Dalziel.

The future for Jensen is looking bright as she hopes to bring a variety of new, fun, and innovative classes to Carlyle. She is currently looking into two very popular classes: yoga and zumba. Jensen is also hoping to hold fitness competitions, possibly beginning with one for the community in January. Another idea she is hoping to bring to fruition includes the possibility of holding a triathalon in the area.

Jensen is also hoping to bring CrossFit to Carlyle.

"It's focused on basic exercises and timed trials," explained Jensen.

CrossFit is a fairly high intensity exercise, but one that is proven to work. Many fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and military organizations use this style of workout in order to be physically fit for service. CrossFit aims to strengthen and tone all aspects of one's body.
