With more than a foot of snow in the forecast, judging of the Windthorst Lions Christmas Light Contest was held on Dec. 21 on a quiet calm evening.

Residents were encouraged to keep their lights on during the evenings of Dec. 21 and 22 for the judging to take place. Although there were many houses all decked out for Christmas, only a few could be chosen as the winners.

Brian and Heather Steele finished first and won $50. Terry and Sharon Batters were second and took home $30, while Bernard and Cathy Steele were third and won $20.
