The performance by the Manor School Drama Club at Manor School on Monday, June 17 was the culmination of over two months of practices, several times a week. The time and effort were not wasted as audiences laughed their way through two short comedies.  This was the fifth year of drama at the Manor school and for a few students, their last performances. Brayden Hill, of Gordon F. Kells, joined the Manor crew when Drama was not available in Carlyle.

The first play was entitled “10 reasons You Should Have Stayed Home Sick Today by E. M. Bell and almost everyone could empathize with many of the scenarios: the dreaded bus ride seated with the least popular student, slipping on a puddle on the floor and appearing to soil your pants, the surprise test, forgetting your lunch, gym class near fatalities, musical tryouts, being the victim of social networking, the school bathroom, field trip and the extension of school by 10 weeks? All in all, they were 10 very good reasons to call in sick.

The second play was entitled “Action News: Now with 10% More Action” by Jonathan Rand.  With Kyle Bye and Desiree Riddell as the news anchors, the rest of the cast filled in the many other jobs on the news casts with laughable results.
