Exciting month for Arcola Daycare

It has been an exciting time at the Arcola Daycare this month.  On August 15 the kids of Arcola Daycare were invited to visit the Arcola Fire Hall thanks to volunteer firefighter Mike Heidinger.  The children were free to explore the hall, try on some fire gear and climb on the trucks.  At the end of the visit they took turns spraying the hose and got soaking wet.

On August 20 the children went on an excursion to the Arcola Co-op, where they were able to play some outdoor games, win prizes and finished the trip with their choice of either an ice cream cone or a slushy.

For the staff and directors, the generous donation received from Kingston Midstream LTD (formerly TEML), was the icing on the cake for the month of August. The Arcola Daycare strives to have a safe, aesthetically pleasing, home-like environment for the children of all ages in their care.  The $2,000 will be used for the purchase of three new highchairs and two toddler tables with eight toddler chairs equipped with seatbelts.  These upgrades to the eating area will go a long way to help them meet their goal.
