GFK High

The high school is doing the community birthday calendar again this year. They are $20.00 / calendar. The funds from this endeavor will be used the fund “out of classroom” learning for the students. This is what we did last year: Grade 11/12’s – the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg/  Grade 10’s – Camping at Big Muddy/ Grade 9’s – skiing at Asessippi/ Grade 7/8’s  - camping at Kenosee. If you are interested in purchasing a calendar, please email  kellscommunitycalendar@gmail.com with your information and contact number.

Please wear an orange shirt on September 30. Orange Shirt Day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission (SJM) residential school commemoration event held in Williams Lake, BC, Canada, in the spring of 2013.  It grew out of Phyllis Webstad's story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the Mission, and it has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually. The date was chosen because it is the time of year in which children were taken from their homes to residential schools.

Picture Day is October 3.

Fitness club in the high school gym is open to all students and all levels of fitness are welcome. Fitness club runs from September to June every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:45 – 8:30AM. Get your day started right with some movement!
