Provincial Cross Country Congratulations to the Senior Cross Country Team. They competed in the Provincial Meet in Prince Albert on the Thanksgiving Weekend. In races with between 100 and 140 competitors, all the athletes did very well.

Provincial Cross Country

Congratulations to the Senior Cross Country Team. They competed in the Provincial Meet in Prince Albert on the Thanksgiving Weekend. In races with between 100 and 140 competitors, all the athletes did very well. In Midget Boys' Mitch Himmelspach finished 7th! In Junior Boys' Nathan Simons finished 25th and Jonah Dyck finished 27th! In Senior Boys' John Shirley finished 76th!  Finally, as a 3A school team, GF Kells was 4th in the whole province! Way to go guys!

We are excited to have Missoula Children’s Theatre coming to Carlyle!  The Missoula team will be here October 28th - November 1st to work with our students in the production of “Jack and the Beanstalk.”  There are roles for students Kindergarten through Grade 12.  Stay tuned for more information.

The high school is doing the community birthday calendar again this year. They are $20.00 per calendar. The funds from this endeavor will be used the fund “out of classroom” learning for the students. This is what we did last year: Grade 11/12’s – the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg/  Grade 10’s – Camping at Big Muddy/ Grade 9’s – skiing at Asessippi/ Grade 7/8’s  - camping at Kenosee. If you are interested in purchasing a calendar, please email  kellscommunitycalendar@gmail.com with your information and contact number.

Fitness club in the high school gym is open to all students and all levels of fitness are welcome. Fitness club runs from September to June every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:45 – 8:30AM. Get your day started right with some movement!

GFK is looking for basketball coaches. If you are interested, please contact Mr. Trent Johnson or Mr. Colin Wilson at the school (453-2500).

Remember, the School Community Council meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. in the school library. If you want to know what is going on at the school or have questions, please plan to attend.  Your participation is necessary for our school’s success.

ParenThe basketball season has now started and a busy season is ahead for the Sr. Boys. Practices run almost every Monday and Wednesday and tournaments are slotted in for Norquay, Stoughton, Estevan, Oxbow, Rocanville, Gravelbourg and Davidson. The completion of the season will be the SHSAA playoffs starting with Conferences in March and concluding with Hoopla on March 23rd and 24th!ts can contact the school for information about how to set up access.
