Well, Gordon F. Kells is involved in supplemental learning these days and the staff are working in a very different world from the one they are used to. Classes from grades 7 to 12 remain open for students to do work on-line. Face to face teaching is being used for some courses at this point and by the end of the week, will be available to all.
One of the issues teachers are concerned about is the sheer volume of information confronting parents. With all the emails to students and parents from teachers, the school, and the school division, along with the other software that parents have to learn to use, it becomes a bit much. Please understand that getting your son/daughter to talk face to face via Microsoft Teams should relieve most of the email traffic that you as a caregiver have been monitoring. Just check in to see if your son or daughter has been talking to their teacher. Join in with them, if you’d like to. As time goes on, teachers will be phoning you to find out how things are going. Please let them know what is working and what is not working. The feedback is important so that we can get better.
