Cameron married Eoin Cameron in 1939, and moved with him through his career. They lived in Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, Alford Bay on Haida Gwaii in B.C., Comox, B.C., Greenwood, N.S., and settled down in Carlyle.

She has two children, a son and a daughter.

Elsie was a very tidy and clean homemaker and always had the prettiest clothing. She was also known for being a fantastic cook and baked the best buns in the country. Cameron loved to have company at her home and enjoying the family get-togethers.

Residing at the Moose Mountain Lodge, she still looks awesome and continues to play cribbage.
