Last year the 25th Annual Homespun drew in 80 vendors. Exhibitors attended the, Saskatchewan Tourism Award of Excellence Winner's, event from not only across the province, but across the country. People came from Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario all to take part in, "The Biggest Little Craft Show in Saskatchewan."

It hosted a variety of people with an even wider variety of goods for sale. Something new and exciting was found at each booth. With amazing sights, smells, and tastes it was a huge success. The show is thought to bring in close to 4,000 shoppers each year and is quite something to see.

This year Homespun will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will again be held in the Carlyle Sports Arena. Admission to the arena will be $4 each day, with youth 12 years and under gaining free admittance to the show. Again this year expects to see over 80 vendors selling arts, crafts, and various other goodies, including a variety of flavours of fudge.

For more information concerning this aspect of Homespun contact Judy Riddell at 453-2557 or visit the Homespun website at, www.homespuncanada.ca.

In 2002 it expanded to include the Homespun Quilt Show, which will take place at Carlyle Memorial Hall on Sept. 15 and Sept. 16. Here admission is $3 and holds the same hours as Homespun. There will be free demonstrations available and a variety of vendors set up here. The 10th Annual Homespun Quilt Show will host handmade quilts, old and new, to be viewed. Patterns and material will be available from vendors who are also willing to share their knowledge.

A special event within the Quilt Show is the Quilt Block Challenge, "Sunbonnet Sue Visits Homespun." People are invited to donate a 12.5 inch by 12.5 inch block using any method or style. The theme for these blocks is "Shoot for the Stars." The entry deadline is Friday, Sept. 14, and will be entered in a People's Choice vote. The completed quilt using the blocks entered will then be used to raise funds for a community project. For more information call Lauren Hume at 453-2824.

In 2007, Homespun then added the Homespun Show 'n Shine bringing in a number of impressive vehicles to the community. Last year nearly 40 cars were brought out, despite the rain, to be shown. This year will mark the 5th Annual Show 'n Shine, which is a Dennis Neelin Memorial Event. It will be held at Merit Ford on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With a barbeque lunch and a shuttle available to the Homespun Craft Show there is something for everyone to enjoy. For more information contact Faron at Merit Ford 1-888-888-7011 or 453-4444.

Sure to be an exciting weekend boasting something for everyone, "The Biggest Little Craft Show in Saskatchewan," holds true. Those associated with Homespun hope to see you there enjoying what they work hard to bring to the area.
