Cheryl MacDonald has been working in watercolour and with art pens for 21 years, beginning with pencil sketches and painting during high school, taking a break to raise a family and teach.

Just before her sister Allyson passed away in 2009, she encouraged MacDonald “to paint a masterpiece”. Taking the advice to heart, MacDonald became serious about her painting and has combined her watercolours with journaling around it. She now has a new inspiration for her art with the impending birth of her first grandchild. MacDonald has been working on nursery-themed pieces, and has several completed with a little time to spare, thanks to her time at the MMPP Artist Colony Retreat.
