If you’re looking to connect with nature and hope to find a peaceful place to do so, Moose Creek Regional Park is the place to go.

Moose Mountain Regional Park is located on the eastern shore of Grant Devine Reservoir, near Alameda. The park has lots to offer, with fishing, camping, swimming, boating and hiking (on the nature trails) being just a few of its perks. In fact, the fishing is a highlight of the park. The park has a great fishing dock, which was recemented just recently.

Andrew Sinclair, the park manager explained, “The fishing is exceptional and has been for … a few years, and it seems to get better every year.”

There are other things as well which make this park a great place for families, couples or individuals. Moose Creek Regional Park has great playgrounds for children, as well as a brand-new basketball and pickleball court. The park also has a great nine-hole golf course, which makes for a terrific place to spend a summer day.

Sinclair also explained why Moose Creek Regional Park is so special.

“You can get out into the into the nature, and on our walking path … you usually run [into]…a deer or two … The sunsets are amazing, so it’s a great … view for that.”

But probably the greatest asset to the park, which sets it apart from others, is the quiet and peaceful atmosphere that it generates, despite it having 256 campsites.

“It’s a nice quiet campground that people appreciate coming to and can enjoy themselves and [it’s] not quite as busy as some of the larger parks,” explained Sinclair.

The park will be open until around the Labour Day long weekend, so be sure to check it out this summer and connect with the beautiful nature of the Prairies.
