Janna Ogle is from Oxbow and was camping with her fiancé Kansas Severson, their two dogs and friends at Moose Mountain Provincial Park for four days.

This is not her first time back to the campground at Kenosee Lake in the very popular Fish Creek location.

This is her first trip back to Fish Creek, having camped there with her parents when she was still attending school. She remembers her first camping experience was to Jasper, Alta., with her parents when she was very young.

Ogle and her fiancé are well equipped for the stay and filled up their time kayaking, paddle boarding and hiking.

Ogle has enjoyed camping at Canmore, Alta., Whistler, B.C., Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Alaska and Christopher Lake.

For future destinations on the “must camp at list,” Ogle plans someday to visit Yosemite in California and some places in Wyoming.

The favoured campfire meal and culinary delight for the weekend is “bush pie” which is a delectable combination of ingredients made in a cast iron skillet, cooked on the open flame.

Ogle recalls hiking a trail in Banff and summiting the Ha Ling Peak that offered up a beautiful scenic view of a waterfall as one of her best camping memories. She stills recommends the Fish Creek Campground is the place she would send someone looking for a great camping experience.
