For me, it also brings back memories of my father, Denton Brehaut who was in the Second World War from 1941-1945. He was an airplane mechanic and stationed at Gimli, Man., and Brantford, Ont. This year is the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The Wawota branch of the Royal Canadian Legion forgoed their usual service but planned a brief ceremony at the cenotaph.
