An interview with Detachment Commander Darren Simons

 

            The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls service from Thursday, July 26 to the morning of Thursday, August 2.

            911/False alarms

            An order was put in at Sasktel to change a phone line after 6 static calls, all false alarms over the last week, were placed by a residential phone line.

            Assault

            In Carlyle Area an assault call was responded to that ended up with one individual arrested and charged. There was also an assault call in Kisbey, no charges were laid. A second assault call from Carlyle area both individuals were charged.

            SCAN Assistance

            Police assisted SCAN by signing documents for a landlord to remove a tenant from a rental property were there had been suspected drug trafficking, yet police could not press charges.

            Fire Department Assistance

             One police member put out a fire that had originated in a power box, and a second officer help the volunteer police to extinguish the rest of the fire that had spread throughout the apartment building..

.           Impaired Driving                                                                                

            There were four impaired calls placed, two calls resulted in charges. In one case there had been a collision and a person had been transported by STARS to the hospital in Regina

            Drug Trafficking

            Two cases involving drug trafficking have are under investigation in the Carlyle Area this week.     Erratic Driving

            A call came in of an erratic driving on highway 13 throwing beer cans out of the car window driving near Kisby. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

            Theft                                                                                                                                                

            A Carlyle business reported shoplifting and it is still under investigation.

            Trafficking Illegal Substance

            A suspect for drug trafficking has been reported and is still under investigation. Police cannot release the area it occurred while the investigation is ongoing.

            Mental Health

.           Two calls were responded to about mental health, in one case the person had overdosed on drugs and was flown to a hospital in Regina.

            Mischief

            A person was trying to enter a house in the Carlyle Area, there was concern over the children in the house and Yorkton Tribal Services was contacted.

            Traffic Offenses

            Approximately 20 speeding violations

            Fraud

            Obtaining credit through fraud is under investigation.
