Art Nelson passed away at the Redvers Health Centre long term care facility on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

        Art’s memory will be forever cherished by his children, Lynda (Larry) Hainsworth, Lois Stokke (Ken Mair), Joey (Prudent) Mailhiot and Jim (Jeannine) Nelson; grandchildren, Terry (Melissa) Hainsworth (children, Colton, Morgan, Chalaina, Kaira and Kori), Tania Hainsworth (children Justin, Haley and Owen), Sharla Hainsworth (children, Kaiden and Jordyn), Amanda & Riley Herbel (Kevin Jameson), Lisa Ayre (daughter Isabella), Ryan Stokke (daughter Katelyn), Daniel Mailhiot, Tyler (Amy) Mailhiot (children, Kylan and Tatym), Chelsey Mailhiot, Skylar Mailhiot, Byron Nelson and Kayleigh Nelson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

        He was predeceased by his parents, Aksel and Emilie Nelson; wife Gerda Nelson; son-in-law Ken Stokke and siblings, Paul, Elsie and Vera.
        A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Dannevirke Lutheran Church, Redvers, with The Rev. Michelle Moore officiating. A private family interment followed at Dannevirke Lutheran Cemetery, after which a luncheon was held in the church basement.

        Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Redvers.

The family of Arthur Nelson wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr Melissa Duncan for the respect, kindness, and caring in dads final days. A huge thank you to the nurses, aides, and staff at Tiger Lily Way for their care and compassion for Dad these last 4 years. Thanks to Rev. Michelle Moore for the lovely service, Juanita for playing the organ, Dannevirke ladies for the lunch, Jeannine for the reading and all the dainties for lunch.  To Daniel for travelling from Thailand to do the eulogy for his Grandpa. Finally, a sincere thank you to all the family, friends, and neighbours who visited, sent flowers, cards, messages, food and and to those that attended the funeral. We are so grateful for the time Dad was with us, so many memories, Thank you all!
