Congratulations to Trystan Meyers, DJ Anchor, Saskatoon, who is a former Wawota resident, on being voted by Planet S magazine as the best DJ. He won the same honor in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Happy birthday to Katie Bunz, a resident at Deer View Lodge. She celebrated her 91st birthday on Nov. 24.

The Wawota Public Library's latest book for the book club was The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney. I quite enjoyed it. It was the story about a special apartment and two women, who lived there at different times. The book went back and forth between the two women, so I went through the book and read one woman's story at a time. We discussed it virtually as the new COVID rules did not allow us to meet in person.

Colton and Tiffany Easton of Brandon, Man., had a son. He was born on Dec. 5 and weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. He is a grandson for Wade Easton, Dianne Wilson, Ray Aguis, Laurie Aguis (Brandon). Great-grandparents are Annie Easton (Weyburn), Don and Helen Gurski (Moosomin) and Lily Aguis (Headingly, Man.). Congratulations to all.

By the time you read this, I will have celebrated my 80th birthday on Dec. 19. I am now classed as an octogenarian and join others in the community. Some that I am aware of are Gail Engle, Keith Olson, Norma Lamontagne, Joe Brisbois and Meredith Swanson.

Well, it is end of another year. Although it has been different and sometimes difficult, we still have a lot to be thankful for and much to look forward to in the New Year.

Christmas wishes to all and all of the best for the New Year!
