Ashton, who graduated from Grade 12 this year, had pictures taken with several family members. They visited with Christa and Trevor Pryce, Sydney, Harper and Ethan, and grandpa Norman Myers.

Patricia Freeman of Brantford, Ont. visited with her mother, Evelyn Green and brother Michael. She stayed for a couple of weeks before returning home.

Congratulations to Wade and Leanne Porter who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Aug. 29th. They celebrated with a small group of family and friends.

I checked out the Wawota and District Lions Club memorial placed on Memory Lane. It lists all of the former members and really adds to the already decorative area. It brings back many memories when reading the names from April 5th, 1965 to the present. Ken Myers and Shaun Galger were instrumental in its creation.

In late July, the Brandon Sun did a write up about sports legends entitled Where are they Now? In that issue they featured Wawota's own Kelly Greenbank. It was an interesting article and followed his career from Wawota to all of the other teams he played on and then his move to Austria.

It was a busy life for them all and I am sure they have many fond memories. I have memories of a happy and friendly little boy in Grade 3 when I taught school in Kelso in the early 1960s!

We were hoping for a visit from our son, Craig and Nicole and Mike this summer but due to the virus, this won't be happening. We are comforted to know they are reasonably safe in Taiwan. Taiwan has dealt with COVID-19 very well. With a population of 23 million they have had only 480 cases and 7 deaths.

Keith and I celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8. It was the eighth day of the eighth month, equalling the date of the year 1964. (Actually called a square day). Nature honoured us with what appeared to be two moons in the sky...actually one was the planet Mars.
