Happy belated 90th birthday to Gwen Groves, who is Garry Dickson's sister. She was 90 on March 18. As a special surprise, her family encouraged other family members and friends to send cards. She received 96 cards (and messages) and still counting.

Born to Sheldon and Denise Van Eaton of Maryfield, a daughter on March 20. She weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces, and has been named Alyse Violet. She is a sister for George and Lia, and a granddaughter for Denis and Freda Cuddington and John and Denise Van Eaton. She is also a great-granddaughter for Mabel Van Eaton and Sandy Rothnie.

Don (Hawk) Fowler celebrated a special birthday last week. Happy belated birthday!

Sympathy to the family and friends of the late Grant Hambley of Winnipeg. He passed away on March 8 at the age of 91 years. He was the husband of the late Joan (Birnie) Hambley.

The Wawota United Church held their annual Time and Talent fundraiser last week. Due to the virus, it was all online. There was a great selection of donations and the bidding was brisk. Over $4,000 was raised from the sale and monetary donations were $700. The RTR group were busy on the weekend with their pies (pre-ordered) and jam sales. They sold 200 pies.

Angie Werner had a successful bake sale online last weekend. She was soon sold out of all contributed baking. The proceeds with go towards expenses incurred with her A+ Animal Rescue. A + Animal Rescue is non-profit and relies on volunteers, donations and fundraising. It provides strays with all necessary veterinary care. A great cause to contribute to.

Several residents have been receiving their COVID shots. Some travelled as far as Regina. Several others have had their appointments moved to a later date. I contacted them four times before getting appointments and was planning on going to Redvers. For sure it is frustrating but think of how frustrated those on the other end dealing with so many problems. We all just need to be patient.
