A correction from last week's news ... 104-year-old Dorothy Melitz lives at Sterling Manor Apartments in Moosomin.

Sympathy to the family and friends of the late Merle Coleman who passed away on June 5 at the Virden Health Centre in Manitoba. She was 93 years old and the daughter of the late Matt and Elizabeth Hamilton. She was predeceased by her husband Ron and is survived by her daughter, Dreda Braybrook and her family. Interment was in the Virden Columbarium.

Happy birthday to Elgin Pryce who celebrated his 88th birthday on June 19.

Edmonton CTV News recent aired a news item about 16-year-old Harding Garratt from Spruce Grove. Harding is the son of Owen (former Wawota resident) and Karla Garratt. Harding started a business, The Dye Ice Cream Guy.

With a loan from his parents, he purchased a Dickie Dee's Ice Cream vehicle and sells frozen treats. He travels twice a week and posts his route on social media. What a great story of an ambitious young entrepreneur.

I spent four days at the Langbank Post Office last week. I always enjoy my time there as the residents are so very friendly.

We received some sad news last week. Kurtis Buhr passed away in a Regina hospital on June 7. He was 56 years old and was the father of two of our grandchildren, Emma and Morgan. A funeral was held at the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Regina on June 12.
