Wawota weekly news – graduation plans

Sympathy to Pat Clements and Gordon and Marie Clements and family on the passing of Bill Dartige of Weyburn. He was Pat's son and Marie's brother. He passed away on May 4 at the age of 58 years.

Sympathy also to Ray and Doreen Pryce and family on the passing of Ray's older brother Eddie of Medicine Hat, Alta. He passed away April 30th at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne (Brehaut) and is survived by his family of Bruce, Beth, Rod and Kim and their families. 

It looks like the Wawota Parkland Graduation will be quite similar to last year due to COVID-19 restrictions. The graduate's banners are up on Main Street and Railway Avenue. There are 10 graduates this year and they are Bailey Delbridge, Matthew Fahlman, William Husband, Julia Houff, Madison Mansfield, Beth McCarthy, Riley Niven, Ethan Pryce, Cade Rutten and Theoren West. 

Dani Scriven and Ryder Slinn were weekend visitors in Wawota, where they enjoyed meeting with their friends. 

Some news from News in Five....Megan Smulan has purchased the former Heather Ramage home at 105 Pipestone Ave. She and son Rylan live there. 

 Neila Denis has moved to the former Glenn Glasser home at 111 Pipestone.  

Leona Birnie has moved from the senior apartments to the residence at 111 Railway Ave. The Resko family of Calgary owns this rental. 

And as of June 1, Jake and Carey Lamoureaux, Jack and Will be the new owners of the home at 108 Clements Ave. This is the former McCarthy home. Nice to see these changes. 

Word has been received of the passing of Rev. Reg Gillard of Watrous. He travelled extensively across Canada over the years. He was 91 years old when he passed away on April 22. He was a former rector of the Anglican parish in Wawota in the 1960s. Cremation and burial have taken place.
