Planning a Farmerettes reunion for the future

It all began in the early 1960s when Delores Cutler asked me what I thought about trying to organize a girls youth program in rural Moose Creek area.

It all began in the early 1960s when Delores Cutler asked me what I thought about trying to organize a girls youth program in rural Moose Creek area.

We both agreed it would be such a nice group for our teenage girls to be part of, and we began by phoning some of the mothers to see whether we had their support.  Before we knew it we had a group of young girls anxious and excited, and so began many years of gatherings, events and graduations, and during the years of 1963-1978, 60 girls graduated from the Moose Creek Canadian Girls in Training Farmerettes with Delores Cutler, May Hume, Bev Rutten and myself as the leaders over the years.

Now many decades later, we are wanting to bring the girls back together for a reunion. At this time we cannot plan a specific date because of COVID, perhaps by 2022 it would be possible but we are now reaching out near and far, and hopefully through emails and the internet we will get in touch with them all.

Helen (Brown) Finucane and Michelle (Cutler) Baldwin will be gathering the emails to establish the contact page. If you already have contact with either of them perhaps you could share all the email addresses you might have of any of the girls.

Here’s hoping for a super great reunion. I can hardly wait!
