Carlyle & District Lions donate 35K to charities and community causes
The Carlyle & District Lions Club dispersed $35,000 dollars to charities and community causes on Tuesday, May 1 at the Happy Gang Club. Lion Wayne Wilson - chair of the club's annual March fundraising supper - said: “At this year's supper, we raised $35,000, which we're distributing to 22 groups tonight. This money was raised at our March supper and I'd like you to mark your calendars for our next annual Lions supper, which will take place Thursday, March 7, 2019.”
Pictured are representatives from organizations who received Lions' donations and who were in attendance. In addition (not pictured), the Carlyle & District Lions donated: $3,000 to the Carlyle Sports Arena, $1,000 to the Moto Cross Club, $2,000 to STARS Air Ambulance and $2,000 to the Lions Club Guide Dog program in Oakville, Ontario, which was matched by an anonymous donor, making the Carlyle club's total donation to the Guide Dog program $4,000.
