On Saturday Nov. 24th, Nathen Schmidt of Carlyle competed at the 2018 Huskie Wrestling Open in the 61kg weight class. Nathen finished first place after defeating three opponents by technical superiority.
Nathen is competing with the University of Alberta GoldenBears varsity wrestling team in his second year of university.
On the Friday, the U of Alberta GoldenBears defeated the U of Sask Huskies in a wrestling duel.
Nathen urges kids from Carlyle and surrounding areas to give Wrestling a try and to contact the Mustangs Wrestling Club for more information.
Angela Aalbers (U of Sask.) and Tianna Kennett (U of Calgary) , both from Manor, competed over the weekend as well with their school. Tianna also placed first and Angela placed fifth
