Arcola hockey product Carson Birnie selected in WHL draft

A hockey player from Arcola who played minor hockey in Estevan was selected in Wednesday’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. Forward Carson Birnie was chosen in the eighth round, 160th overall, by the Red Deer Rebels.

A hockey player from Arcola who played minor hockey in Estevan was selected in Wednesday’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Forward Carson Birnie was chosen in the eighth round, 160th overall, by the Red Deer Rebels.

Birnie spent this past season with the Regina Monarchs bantam AA program. He had 28 goals and 67 points in 29 games.

In 2018-19, he played with the Estevan TS&M bantam AA Bruins, and had eight goals and 22 points in 31 games. He also played atom and peewee hockey in Estevan.
